Some sketches of my sona when I was unexpectedly bored and waiting around at a family friend's place.
A series of pen sketches and doodles for my friend Swift over on swift-creates (tumblr) when I decided to fulfill a bunch of sketchbook requests from her.
After watching BAM Animation's video on art exercises for better character design, it was at this point I started to try these for myself. Obviously, I had a lot of fun!
Plenty curved and bent arrows from BAM's video, put in to practice with posca markers layered on top. I had fun!
More arrows, this time with an arrow each being one colour of my current posca colour set.
After a wave of struggle and self-doubt in drawing TASM!Peter Parker, I decided to sit down and do some studies. Varied results, but the second one is still my favourite.
Swift wanted a visual on her character creation of Ricky Kent-Wayne (made from project Cadmus cloning tech from Tim Drake and Kon-El Kent) for something DC-related, so I offered to take the challenge.
Some more exploration of Ricky, this time using copics and a few post-it notes to maintain his head shape and proportions consistently.
Sketchbook Best 2024 #3 Chapter Two
Some of my favourite pieces from my sketchbooks for 2024 - all of these come from my third sketchbook of the year: a Leuchtturm 1917 square sketchbook. While it was started and completed from June to October, these pages in particular come from September to October.
