One prompt from my friend which didn’t make it into the previous sketchbook was to draw my present self interacting with my younger self. I think young me would’ve loved a ride on my shoulders.

When I had a puppet animation class at the start of the year, I was tasked with designing a character who would’ve been built as one. These are some of the exploratory sketches I later painted on with watercolour.

A pirate-era mermaid character idea I’d been redesigning, Maedlynn. I let myself commit to her looking less human underwater than I would’ve in the past.

17th of March this year was BOTH the Jewish Holiday of Purim AND St Patrick’s Day, so it was fitting to see my Jewish and Irish-American original characters celebrating together!

Another original character of mine, Cora, is canonically a LARPer, but doesn’t actively show it in her story aside from renewing some archery skills. It felt right for her to be dressed as her LARP character, ‘Robin Zalanis’.
