Initially done during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, this piece was done as student work for an assignment regarding one and two-point perspective of an exterior and interior. Having had this new show idea birthed in 2019, I used the assessment as an excuse to create this as concept art.
Like its companion piece of the Anchoring Lights Chapel before it, this also had to be submitted in black-and-white for tonal consistency and marking; the use of a 'color' filter allowing me to keep two versions. Even so, blue fever swept me up hard and strong.
I'm still delighted by how this piece turned out, though I could critique it quite strongly nowadays. Perhaps sometime I'll revisit it after my undergrad is finished, but preferably in more flat colours than the crazy light and shading as I did here.
Fun fact - the lamppost in the student-level script the show originated from was originally a Narnia reference, but now it's grown itself into being part of the world and lore. Welp.
